A Season of Celebration

Ah, April. The days grow longer, the air feels lighter, and that unmistakable energy of new beginnings is all around us. As we shed our coats and step into spring, we’re not just celebrating the season—we’re celebrating a milestone:

Open Circle Alliance is turning one!

We incorporated as a Massachusetts nonprofit on April 19, 2024. What began as a hunch—an idea that maybe there were others out there craving connection, healing, and purpose—has become a vibrant, living network. Over the past year, we’ve watched that idea take root and flourish. We’ve witnessed the powerful magic that unfolds when people find each other, and in the process, find more of themselves. You’ve found mentors, co-conspirators, new directions, new projects—and maybe even a sense of belonging. It’s been nothing short of inspiring.

Thank you for being with us. We’re so grateful for your presence, and we can’t wait to see what will emerge from the year ahead!

HONORING 4/19

While 4/19 is Open Circle Alliance’s birthday, you might know it as Bicycle Day. On April 19, 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann took a small dose of LSD-25 and rode his bicycle home, unaware that this seemingly simple trip would become a symbolic turning point for science, spirituality, and consciousness. His ride marked the beginning of a profound conversation: What does it mean to explore our inner worlds? What might we discover when we go inward, guided by intention and care?

Today, people continue this exploration in various ways. For those seeking mental health healing, psychedelics offer a tool to break through trauma and find new paths to wellness. For others, it’s about personal growth—releasing old patterns, igniting creativity, or embracing change. And for many, psychedelics open doors to deeper spiritual exploration, offering glimpses of unity, transcendence, and the sacred.

Each year, Bicycle Day invites us to reflect on this journey. What new possibilities are awakening in you? What transformation is waiting to unfold?

STAY TUNED—OUR SPRING PROGRAMMING IS BLOOMING

As the earth begins to awaken, so do we. After a quiet season of reflection, we’re emerging from our cocoons and planting seeds for our spring and summer gatherings. This past year, we’ve built a vibrant network across the Massachusetts psychedelic space—listening, connecting, and learning from many voices.

Now, we’re moving toward more focused conversations and deeper dives into some of the questions you’ve told us matter most:

  • What’s needed to safely prepare for and integrate a psychedelic experience?

  • How can facilitators be better supported to offer high-quality care?

Details are still unfolding—keep an eye on your inbox for more details!
